  • What currency should I bring?
    You can bring your major credit card, traveler's check and small amount of cash. Generally you don't need to take Chinese currency to China, as you can exchange US$ into Chinese RMB in the hotel you lodged. But if you like to carry some Chinese currency when you enter the country; less than 6000 RMB is ok to bring in without declaration at the customs.

    Can I use my credit card in China?
    In China, credit card is not popular as in US or Europe. Please don't count on it for your only money selection. Hotels, restaurants, shopping centers in commercial areas in big city do accept credit card. The ATM machine of Bank of China accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc.

    Can I use my US ATM card in China?
    It depends. Some banks in big city such as Beijing and Shanghai accept foreign ATM card.

  • What health condition do I need for traveling?
    There are no special health requirements for traveling in China. Please bring your medical record along if you have any history of coronary or pulmonary diseases. It will be useful if there is any emergency occurs.

  • When should I book my reservation?
    Majority of our tours require full payment is received two months prior to departure. Please book the travel the earlier, the better; especially during the high season.

  • When is the high season and when is the low season in China?
    Generally, the high season is from 16th of March to 30th of November; the low season is from 1st of December to 15th of March.

  • Should I purchase travel insurance?
    Our travel packages include travel insurance for all of our customers.

  • What is luggage restriction for China domestic flight?
    Passenger holds a first class adult ticket or a half-price ticket is entitled to bear the luggage of 30kg free of charge (checked and carry-on baggage). Passenger holds a economy class adult ticket or a half-price ticket is entitled to bear the luggage of 20kg free of charge (checked and carry-on baggage). No free luggage allowance for people who hold infant ticket.

  • Carry-On Luggage for Domestic Flights
    Each first-class passenger is entitled to have two pieces of carry-on luggage. Each business-class passenger is entitled to have one piece of carry-on luggage. Each economy-class passenger is entitled to have one pieces of carry-on luggage.
    The size of each carry-on luggage should be smaller than 20 x 40 x55 centimeter and total weight should be less than 5 kg. Otherwise the luggage should be checked together with your other luggage. Each passenger travel with one suitcase and one carry-on bag will be recommended.


During Travel

  • Where to find NiceVac tour guide when I arrive in the Beijing/Shanghai airport?
    If you join the trip on your own, we will send a note to you two weeks before you head for the trip. Our tour guide will then meet you at airport by holding a board with your name on it.
  • Can I have a single room when lodging in China?
    Our tour package is two persons share one room. You have to pay extra if you want to live on your own. Please notify us when you make the reservation, so that we can make the arrangement for you.

  • Is the tap water in China drinkable?
    Never drink the tap water in China for your safety. Majority of hotels you are lodging will be equipped thermos bottles or coffee maker. Tell your tour guide if you have such need and the hotel did not offer. You can buy bottled mineral water for around 3 RMB.

  • Will I be able to access Internet during travel?
    It depends. Beijing and Shanghai hotels have the business room to access the Internet; other cities may not have. Tell the tour guide when you first meet him/her about this concern.

  • Does China have do-it-yourself laundry machines?
    It depends. But all hotels offer laundry services and are much cheaper than in US or Europe. They pick up every morning and return the next day.

  • How is the meal arrangement for our tour package? Are they all Chinese style or some with Western cuisines?
    Majority of our meal arrangement are in Chinese cuisines, as we thought that we want to introduce the delicious foods in China. However, please inform us if you prefer Western cuisines; or need special meals for other reasons such as religious, medical, vegetarian, etc.
  • Should I give tips in China?
    Tips for tour guide and bus driver are a common practice in China. Please give them tips if you satisfy their service. Hotel bellboy also expects your tips. You don't have to give tips to hotels and restaurant, as the bill already include service charges.

  • Can I use my electric appliance in China?
    Voltage in China is 220V 50Hz. You have to bring electrical multi adaptor along.

  • Can I use my mobile phone in China?
    Contact with your mobile carrier for this question.

  • How to make international phone call in China?
    Nowadays, it is easy and cheap to buy a prepaid phone card that you can call all over the world. IC and IP card are most recommended and cheaper. Most public telephone booths in China are using IC card. The price is from 20 RMB to 100RMB. International calls with IC telephone card are expensive, usually over 10 RMB per minute. Emergency calls 112(weather), 119(fire), 110(police) are free and require no phone card. China country code is 86 and outgoing international code is 00.
